Storage systems in the form of energy containers are becoming increasingly important as buffers and to harmonize the flow of renewable electrical energy, as their production and consumption are often irregular and asynchronous. The solution enables high charging capacities to be realized even in locations where the grid has not yet been expanded. The aim of the collaboration is to combine the expertise of both partners in the development, production, and operation of these systems in order to bring solutions to the market that set standards in all relevant criteria.

What role does energy storage play in the transition to clean energy?

Energy storage systems are connected to the power grid and store electrical energy generated by solar panels, wind turbines or other renewable sources. They feed the stored energy into the target application or back into the grid at a more favorable time - for example, at night when solar energy is not available or during a weather event that affects power generation. Energy storage systems ensure the stability and reliability of electricity grids and in certain cases can even act as the sole energy reserve of a local grid, making it independent of external energy providers.

Thanks to their flexibility, battery-based energy storage systems in a wide range of capacities can be installed almost anywhere - even on the move. For example, they can be used as charging stations in places where there is no local infrastructure, such as on construction sites.

What characterizes the energy containers developed by Akkodis and PRIAK?

The energy containers developed by Akkodis and PRIAK are characterized by their high level of flexibility, as they allow different battery types to be combined. They also offer a performance-optimized design to cover high peak loads, a long service life and high availability.

These energy storage systems are used in various markets, including integration into large energy grids to optimize grid stability, peak shaving to avoid consumption peaks, use as a charging infrastructure for vehicles and as mobile solutions and emergency power generators. The products are available with storage capacities of 800 kWh to 3200 kWh. The first customer orders have already been successfully secured
