    Akkodis is seeking an Application Engineer for a Contract job with a client in Rutland, Vermont. Responsibilities include rewriting existing programs to .NET, converting Access DB to MySQL, maintaining and enhancing current applications, and developing Digital Moonshine applications and reports.

     

    Rate Range: $45/hour to $60/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

     

    Application Engineer job responsibilities include:

    • Design, develop, and deploy software applications to meet business needs and enhance operational efficiency.

    • Rewrite and modernize legacy programs, converting outdated systems to .NET or other relevant technologies.

    • Maintain and troubleshoot existing applications, resolving technical issues and implementing necessary updates or fixes.

    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production workers and management, to gather requirements and deliver IT solutions.

    • Develop and optimize databases, including converting Access DB to MySQL and working with MS SQL, Oracle, and other database systems.

    • Create and maintain dashboards, reports, and other data-driven applications to support business decision-making.

    • Provide ongoing support for deployed applications, ensuring smooth performance and continuous improvement.

     

    Desired Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

    • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in software development and application engineering.

    • Experience with Visual Basic 6, vb.net, C#.net, MS Office Visual Basic for Applications, and SQL-based database systems (MySQL/MSSQL/Oracle).

    Pay Details: $45.00 to $60.00 per hour
