    Akkodis is seeking an Application Engineer for a Contract job with a client in Rutland, Vermont (Hybrid). This role involves leading the development of Digital Moonshine applications and collaborating with manufacturing teams to ensure smooth business operations.

     

    Rate Range: $45/hour to $60/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

     

    Application Engineer job responsibilities include:

    • Rewrite existing programs to .NET, converting over 70+ VB programs running on the Job Server and migrating Access DB to MySQL.

    • Maintain and enhance current applications, performing break/fix tasks and implementing necessary updates.

    • Lead the development, creation, and support of Digital Moonshine applications, dashboards, and reports.

    • Lead the design, development, and deployment of IT applications to support business operations.

    • Collaborate with production workers and management on the shop floor to provide effective IT solutions for manufacturing operations.

    • Ensure continuity of manufacturing and business operations by rewriting legacy programs developed using obsolete programming languages.

     

    Desired Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

    • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in software development, application engineering, or related roles.

    • Strong experience with Visual Basic 6, VB.NET, C#.NET, SQL, MySQL/MSSQL, Oracle, and Access DB.

    • Proven ability to rewrite legacy applications, migrate databases, and work on-site in a manufacturing environment.

    Pay Details: $45.00 to $60.00 per hour
