    Akkodis is seeking a Communications Specialist for a client in San Diego, CA

    Pay Range: $35-$40/HR.

    SUMMARY

    Responsible for supporting the Internal Communications & Employee Engagement Manager in developing and executing high-level internal and external communications.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Other duties may be assigned.)

    • Leads internal communications initiatives and projects. In collaboration with Internal Communications & Employee Engagement Manager, develops, edits, formats, coordinates translation, and distributes company announcements such as new hire/promotion announcements, employee newsletter, team member handbook, awards brochures, virtual event flyers, event collateral, and other content. Works closely with Senior Leadership Team and cross-functional departments to ensure the right information is distributed to employees at the right time and in a professional manner. 60%

    • Leads/supports communication initiatives such as the Masco Cares grant program and its related press releases/external communications, WAY Award nominations process, annual company surveys, the development of job postings for new career opportunities, delivery of new hire orientation, etc. 20%

    • Maintains company intranet, Connect, to ensure information is accurate and up to date. Generates communications content for Connect. 5%

    • Develops and executes social media calendar for our client’s Careers social media channels, including post copy and post design.5%

    • Coordinates and executes video projects for internal and external communication. Works with vendors where additional design, translation, or other support is needed.5%

    • Provides communications support on company events such as service awards. Provides backup to the rest of the P&C team as needed.5%

    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

    Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university in communication or business; 3-5 years’ related experience and/or training; strong verbal and written communication skills that include exceptional proofreading, editing, writing and grammar skills. Ability to manage time effectively.

    LANGUAGE SKILLS

    The individual must be able to interface with co-workers, internal departments, service providers, and applicants in a fast paced environment that requires multi-tasking. Ability to speak and write clearly, listen to others, ask questions, understand written information and interpret documents such as federal and state regulations, safety rules, and procedure manuals. The individual will be communicating through e-mails, so accurate typing and excellent grammar skills a must. Bilingual (English/Spanish) a significant plus.

    MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

    Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

    REASONING ABILITY

    Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

    COMPUTER AND OTHER SKILLS

    Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office Suite required.

    Pay Details: $35.00 to $40.00 per hour
