    Our mission focuses on advancing sustainable technology and our fast-growing team is dedicated to the electrification of off-highway equipment, working to develop control algorithms and software features for cutting-edge battery management systems. Currently, we're looking for a Control Engineer to help drive our vision forward.


    What you’ll be doing as a Control Engineer:

    • Control Algorithm Development: Design, develop, and implement control algorithms for battery management systems (BMS) used in applications such as excavators, cranes, and tractors.
    • Embedded System Optimization: Address the challenges of real-time performance, memory constraints, and power management unique to embedded systems.
    • Collaborative Integration: Work closely with a cross-functional team of electrical, mechanical, and software engineers to ensure smooth integration of control systems with battery hardware.
    • Modeling & Simulation: Perform system modeling, simulation, and validation to optimize battery performance under embedded system constraints.
    • Real-Time Software Development: Develop and maintain control software for real-time embedded systems, ensuring performance and safety standards.
    • Testing & Validation: Participate in rigorous testing, debugging, and validation of control systems, focusing on the specific challenges of embedded environments.
    • Innovation & Team Engagement: Contribute actively to team meetings, sharing innovative ideas and new concepts in control engineering, embedded systems, and battery technologies.
    • Customer Collaboration: Work with the sales engineering team to support customers in implementing and utilizing battery control features effectively.

    What you need to be successful as a Control Engineer:

    • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Control Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
    • 3-5 years of experience in control systems engineering, preferably with exposure to battery management systems.
    • Proficiency in control system design tools such as MATLAB and Simulink; experience with MATLAB Embedded Coder is a plus.
    • Strong experience with real-time embedded systems and microcontroller programming, with a solid understanding of their limitations.
    • Knowledge of battery technologies, including lithium-ion batteries, state estimation, and thermal management.
    • Hands-on approach to designing and performing verification tests.
    • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to work collaboratively to tackle technical challenges.
    • Strong communication skills, fluent in English (Dutch is a plus).
    • Familiarity with model-based design, simulation techniques, and CAN bus communication protocols is preferred.
